Glitch In The RBS System

Monday 4th June 2007

A glitch in a system left Royal Bank of Scotland customers unable to access cash on Friday 1st June. RBS who own Natwest suffered a system crash late in the evening which led to faults within their cash points, online banking systems and telephone services.

RBS have apologised to customers for any inconvenience the malfunction may have caused and by Saturday 2nd all cash machines were back up and running although Natwest’s phone and web services were still affected.

Customers affected were unable to withdraw cash from machines and those trying to access their account via the internet or phone were unable to check balances, update information or make transfers.

RBS is now fully up and running again and customers can now use their full range of services.
