mobile phonesWhat Is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a relatively new buzzword in the mobile phone industry. Several of the big players in the mobile phone and computer industries have came together to draw up a wireless communications standard. The result is Bluetooth, an open source standard protocol designed to eliminate the need for cable connections between mobile phones and other portable devices. Bluetooth also eliminates the need for line-of-sight which hindered the previous infrared standards for wireless data transmission.

The upshot of all this is that you can send and receive emails or get online using a laptop or personal organiser with your mobile phone still safely in your pocket. There are also Bluetooth compatible wireless hands-free-kits. If your mobile phone supports Bluetooth, and voice dialing, it may never need to leave your pocket or bag, leaving you free to interact with your world whilst on your mobile phone. Bluetooth combined with the new GPRS high speed data services that are available,as well as services like MMS (Multimedia Messaging Services), mean that it is becoming easier and easier to access the internet wherever and whenever you want, and faster than ever before.
